Sweden proposed testing for COVID-19 on the border with Denmark

From June 27, the Danish government will open its borders to resume international communication with EU countries. However, residents of Sweden, with the exception of one border region, will still be denied the right to visit the territory of Denmark. For this reason, a member of the regional council in Skåne proposed the installation of laboratories for testing directly on the Danish-Swedish border so that residents of the region could also travel to Denmark. This was announced on June 26 by the Swedish agency SVT Nyheter. For tourists from Sweden, Denmark will remain a closed country, entry into the territory of which is impossible by decision of the Danish authorities. On June 25, the Danish State Vaccine Institute published a message according to which only residents of the Swedish border region of Västerbotten will be able to travel to Denmark. Thus, residents of another border region of Skone will be denied the right to cross the border with Denmark. Henrik Fritzon, a member of the regional council in Skona, does not agree with this decision. He believes that this will affect too many Swedes who are closely associated with Denmark. For this reason, Fritzon proposed installing mobile laboratories on the Danish-Swedish border and conducting rapid COVID-19 tests, thereby allowing residents of the region to cross the border. There are tests that show results within ten minutes. You can just install labs for testing right at the border, Fritzon said.
