The head of the CEC of Belarus explained Tikhanovskaya's video message from her cabinet
Lidia Yermoshina, chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus, confirmed that candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who lost the presidential election, recorded her video message calling for an end to the protests in her office. She stated this in an interview with the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda. Recall that on August 11, Tikhanovskaya recorded a video message in which she urged her supporters not to go out on the square, show prudence and comply with the law. At the same time, in Belarus there were already protests against the results of the presidential election. Many noticed that Tikhanovskaya recorded a video message on the couch, which is very similar to the couch standing in the office of the CEC chairman Yermoshina. The interior was also similar to her office. Because of this, many felt that the appeal was written under pressure. After this appeal, Tikhanovskaya left for Lithuania, accompanied by Belarusian security forces. In fact, she was expelled from the country. Yermoshina admitted that the appeal was indeed recorded in her office. This is my couch. She recorded this appeal without me, said the CEC chairman. Yermoshina also said that Tikhanovskaya came to the CEC with her complaint about the election results. The head of the CEC told her that two high-ranking security officials wanted to talk to her. This is my couch. She recorded this appeal without me, Yermoshina says.
