In the United States, a dog with coronavirus died

A German shepherd, who became the first identified dog infected with SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus in the United States, died a month after she was diagnosed with a coronavirus infection. We are talking about a seven-year-old German shepherd Buddy from New York State. In mid-April, the dog had breathing difficulties. However, only in early June, the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service of the US Department of Agriculture reported that a coronavirus was detected in a dog. On July 11, Buddy passed away. Veterinarians during Buddy's examinations found that he suffered from cancer, which is characteristic of older dogs. Veterinarians cannot yet say for sure whether Buddy contracted coronavirus due to immunity weakened by cancer, or vice versa, a progressive malignant tumor was the result of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Veterinarians do not rule out a random coincidence in the time of two diseases. It is worth noting that earlier the US veterinary service reported that coronavirus was detected in a tiger, a lion and two cats.
