Prime Ministers of India and Japan held the first telephone conversations


Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga held a telephone conversation for the first time on September 25, Kyodo news agency reports. Prime Minister Suga noted that relations between Japan and India have strengthened during the tenure of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Both politicians expressed a desire to continue cooperation in different areas. During the talks, Modi and Suga agreed on the importance of the concept of a free and open Indo-Pacific region. They noted the economic progress made in the partnership between the two countries. In addition, politicians discussed the development of high-speed trains in India and the exchange of highly skilled personnel. Modi invited Suga to India as part of the annual meeting of the leaders of the two countries. Suga will come to India after improving the situation with the spread of coronavirus.
