U.S. elections threaten new bursts of anti-Russian rhetoric - Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The approach of the election of the President of the United States threatens new bursts of anti-Russian rhetoric, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on May 22. According to him, relations between our countries remain not just difficult, but very tense. As the next presidential election in the United States approaches on November 3, new surges of anti-Russian sentiment cannot be ruled out, Ryabkov said during an online discussion organized by the A. M. Gorchakov Foundation for Public Diplomacy, which is devoted to issues of relations between the Russian Federation and the United States. According to the news agency, earlier in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI warned local authorities that Russia would again try to interfere in U.S. elections at the state level. In particular, Moscow will allegedly try to use new tools, in particular, will secretly advise a candidate or election headquarters. Read also: Zhuravlyov: US launches a new spy campaign
